Welcome to the homepage for YMCA Wales’ Connect 4 Change project.

 The connect for change project is a Wales wide global youth work initiative to intergrate a curriculum of global issues, experiences and perspectives into the existing structures and activities provided by YMCA's and supporting young people to become active citizens for change; working in solidarity towards a world of peace, justice and sustainable development.

What is Global Youth Work?

“Informal education with young people that encourages a critical understanding of the links between the personal, local and the global and seeks their active participation in actions that bring change towards greater equity and justice”

The Connect 4 Change project is delivered in partnership with local services across South Wales, currently Connect 4 Change projects are taking place in Onllwyn YMCA, Neath Port Talbot’s Flexible Learning Programme (Alternative Curriculum), Merthyr Tydfil’s Info Shop and Ysgol Gartholwg.  As well as the strong partnerships locally, YMCA Wales also work alongside Y Care International’s Global Youth Work Team.  For more information on global youth work and the great work that Y Care does click here.
